Learnapalooza: A New Spin On Learning

main-image

Remember when you were a kid and you wanted to be a DJ, a break-dancer, a film critic, a world traveler, a card shark, a farmer, an artist and a musician all in one day?

Enter Learnapalooza – a festival that began in 2010 with the idea that everyone has something to learn, something to recommend and something to teach. It encourages people to try new skills, meet new people, explore new places and welcoming to anyone from hobbyists to small business owners and experts in their fields. Now in its 3rd year, the festival will feature more than 70 classes taught at 16 locations across the Wicker Park and Bucktown communities.

On June 16th, the Learnapalooza festival gives your adult self a chance to be all that and more, featuring more than 70 free workshops taught by volunteers and hosted by businesses and community organizations throughout Wicker Park.

How much does this buffet for your brain cost?  Nothing.  Learnapalooza is free and open to the public.

So what do you want to learn?  Beekeeping, break dancing, salsa dancing gnocchi making, drawing or guitar?  Just register and be sure to sign up in advance as most classes will fill up (a few already have): http://www.learnapaloozachi.com/learn.

Can’t get enough? Learnapalooza is expanding to Lakeview this year, offering a second festival on July 21st.  There is even time to sign up as a teacher if you have something to share.

Have fun, learn something.

And if you can’t come to this, don’t worry – there are many more events to look forward to this summer, and down the road, like Social Media Week in Chicago!

Any questions, feel free to email Learnapalooza!
